Born in Pescara, 1978. Lives and works in Pescara.

The erosive, destabilizing action of time is "ruin" only to the eyes of a humanity that cannot seem to void living its history as a continuous mirage of development and progress. Rebelling against this illusion through denial of the anthropocentric dimension of history, Petrei creates alternative scenarios in which the primordial energies of humanity become the motor of enormous, apparently senseless self-acclaiming mechanisms. In his works, humankind is represented as the slave of a utopian project determined and conducted by supernatural forces, the vector of mysterious and uncontrollable energies and, at the same time, a (perhaps unware) force of nature itself.
