Eugenia Vanni

Eugenia Vanni was born in Siena , on February 24, 1980.

There’s an undercurrent of anxiety in all the works of the very young Eugenia Vanni, as if they came from a dream universe inhabited by phantoms, where the artist enters and loses her way. Her works are two and three-dimensional collages in which the fragment does not take on meaning, but instead becomes fluid and ambivalent. Like a storyteller with extrasensory gifts, Vanni creates works overlaying images on materials, assembling forms and objects, memories and archaeological finds, all with painstaking skill. What amazes us is the original, modern use made of classic techniques of the Italian artistic tradition, which in her hands are transformed into timely approaches to visual representation.
