Born in Venice in 1985, she works and lives in Paris.
Giulia Andreani’s work is located in a dangerous area, between Figurative and the Historical painting. The artist has a critical and immature look at European history subjects, defining particular issues as a scientist researcher, working from archival images (from public institutions, libraries, databases, family album). The progressive establishment of a personal atlas, composed by documents and photos, is the basis of an interpretative vision that manifests itself in various series of works, on canvas and on paper, painted starting from a single mix of pigments grayish-blue. Chromati gives a mysterious appearance to the represented subjects who inhabit pictorial spaces in balance between document and fiction, dream and reality, past and present.
