Valerio Rocco Orlando

Born in Milan, 1978. Lives and works in Milan.

His research starts out from Rudolf Kassner’s treatises on physiognomy. Valerio’s work is rooted in a premise: “The characteristics of an individual are revealed through description of his or her face, so long as it is represented in evolution”. Recently the artist has extended his idea of the face as mirror of the soul to objects that the person portrayed utilizes in his or her activities, seen as prostheses capable of conveying through their form the energy that goes into their use.
